One Year

Believe it or not, we’ve been doing this for a year now.  27,000 miles driven and all but eight states visited. We have been coast to coast three times and driven the east coast from Florida to Maine, yet we’ve barely scratched the surface on what to see in this country. Are we ready to stop yet? Nope, let’s keep on moving. And that we did. Our first two race events are back to back. In other words after the event at Road Atlanta, we have two days to get to Austin Texas for round two at Circuit of the Americas.img_0929img_0919 Atlanta was a tough weekend with rain and equipment issues that keep me running all weekend. We did have Tony Hawk in the paddock and a pretty good spectator turnout. img_0927Sunday night after loading the trailers, we left and drove to a rest area in Alabama. Monday morning came quickly and we drove across three states, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana, to Tyler Texas. We found a very crowded and close quarters RV park to stay at, the owner was friendly and we were able to get some laundry done. Tuesday we started out driving to Waco. We couldn’t go past it without stopping at the Magnolia Silos.img_0933img_0938img_0932 Once that was checked off the bucket list we drove south to Austin. Tuesday we went into downtown Austin to show Liz the sights and hung out on Congress bridge to watch the bats fly out at dusk. img_0944img_0960img_0950On wednesday we pulled into the track and started setup. While running around we were told that there was a concert that night and we had to stay away from certain areas of the track. Turns out the concert was going to be the Foo Fighters. That evening  we found a few open gates that allowed us access to the amphitheater and a free concert. img_0967img_0968Regardless that I like the band, they put on a pretty awesome concert. The rest of the weekend was a typical MotoGP combined event, we are the sideshow and thus spend a lot of time waiting around mixed with moments of madness. img_1005

So now that we are into year two and have kinda figured out how to do this RV life thing. Go ahead and subscribe to our blog and stay up to date.
